Over the weekend, luxury-minded jetsetters, gadget-obsessed gurus and boating enthusiasts flocked to the Norwalk Cove Marina in Connecticut for the 2013 Progressive Insurance Norwalk Boat Show. In addition to shopping for the newest and best in boating, visitors experienced fun features for all ages including meet and greets with Johnathan Hillstrand from Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, stand-up paddle and kayaking classes, on-water sailing and powerboating skills sessions, contests and giveaways, and more. Those who are planning to buy a jet ski may need to build a jet ski floating dock in Babylon NY with the help of EZ Dock of Long Island.
During an exclusive blogger experience, I was treated to a sailing lesson during my very first sailboat ride and learned the ins and outs of sailing and using the wind for momentum while out on the water. Sailing is one of the more calm and peaceful boating experiences I’ve ever had. It’s just something about being at the mercy of mother nature from way the wind blows to the way that the waves rock, sailing is literally as unpredictable as the weather.
From the simplicity of sailing to the luxury of living the yacht life aboard the “Queen of the Show” Benetti 93 Delfino. This 93-foot, $9.6 million motor yacht boasts five staterooms, spacious indoor and outdoor entertaining salons and every imaginable amenity, including a Jacuzzi. This vessel is marked by large, continuous windows allowing many different beautiful panoramic views over the sea and a sun deck perfect for relaxation and sunbathing – a must see!

If being more hands on is your thing, all the kayaking and paddle boarding fun you could imagine took place at the “Paddlepalooza” Try-It-Now cove. You all know that I’m all about the kayaking but I clearing wasn’t dressed appropriately this time around…
Speedboats, sail boats, yachts and everything in between – the 2013 Progressive Insurance Norwalk Boat Show had fun fit for the entire family. Whether you’re a boating novice or pro there was something there for everyone to enjoy. No wonder it’s the largest boating show in the entire Northeast.
