It’s always a big deal for us dorks when a new gadget comes out. Todays’s gadget is the new LG G2 smartphone. There was some hype around it as the launch date came. But the day is finally here and to sum it up, I am super impressed. Yes I know, I love bells and whistles. But think about it, it’s becoming quite difficult to be innovative with phones. When you have featured filled phones like the Galaxy S 4 and good midrange phones like the Moto X, how else can other brands get their own spot in the game. Check out what we know of the LG G2 so far:

LG G2 Notable Features:
My favorite thing about this phone is that the volume rocker is placed on the back! Yes the back! I can’t tell you how many times I press the volume rocker by mistake. It also makes sense because most of the time your grip is on the rear side of the phone (due to it’s large size). It might be a deal maker or deal breaker for others. The UI seemed pretty fluid, and the screen was very sensitive and responsive. It was so lightweight even with the huge battery.
Another feature is the 3-finger swipe from right to left that will bring up a few of your fave apps. With QSlide apps you can overlap a few apps over others for true multitasking. Many will enjoy the Guest Mode feature on the LG G2. Guest Mode allows other people to use your phone with restrictions to certain things. You can pick and choose what the “guest” gets to use. No more spying on someone else’s phone.
Check out the videos. What do you think? I think it’s serious competition. How do you feel about the volume rocker being placed in the unusual spot? Guest Mode?
