Some people like the phrase, “New year, new you!” – but I like to change things up more often than normal and prefer, “New season, new do!” instead. Now that we’re finally getting the sunny warm weather that we all deserve, I’ve been thinking about updating a few beauty regimens to include new colorful looks. First thing’s first, I checked out this week’s Happy and Healthy magazine to see what latest beauty deals Duane Reade has in store.

After discovering Fergie’s Wet N Wild collection in store, I got really excited about trying out a few purple & plum eye shades for myself. I’ve always been told that hues of violet & lavender does really well when highlighting brown eyes. After checking out a few of my favorite celebrity looks online like Rihanna, Keri Hilson and more – I am ready to take on the violet eye look.
With the help of Wet N Wild’s cream shadow pencil in ‘Techno” and Mega Liner in “Plum” I was able to create my new violet-eye look below.
When it comes to trying out new looks and experimenting with beauty options, it’s good to know that Duane Reade has all the colors and options to choose from without burning a hole in my wallet. Playing in makeup is supposed to be fun, not expensive – and thanks to the Happy & Healthy Magazine at Duane Reade I can’t wait to try out a new inexpensive beauty look again soon.
