One of my favorite highlights during New York Fashion Week had to be the HP Style event featuring an exclusive preview of Project Runway winner Anya Ayoung-Chee’s Spring runway collection. HP was back in New York for Fashion Week helping Anya Ayoung-Chee unveil her first collection since winning Project Runway Season 9 and the Intel & HP design challenge.
Anya gave guests a personal tour of her new Spring 2013 collection – “Carnival of Colour”. The collection, inspired by the eclectic Harlem area of New York City features beautiful bursts of colorful jumpers, floor length gowns & jackets.
Talk about a fun afternoon filled hors d’oeuvres and drinks at Morimoto NYC! Top fashion bloggers and stylists came together to fuse technology and fashion by styling her collection on HP’s newly announced HP PCs and designing custom textiles with HP TouchSmart PCs like the designers on Project Runway.
“Don’t I look completely engulfed in the designing process? This is serious business!”
This was my first time ever designing textiles, specifically using the HP TouchSmart PC and I have to say, it was super easy and super fun. I decided to create a D&D inspired textile using gold & black colors…After creating my design, I got a chance to print it out and create my very own custom Starbucks tumbler similar the this one below…
In addition to textile design, I got a chance to style a few of Anya’s “Carnival of Colour” looks via Polyvore for a chance to win an HP Pavilion dv6 PC with Beats Audio. (Check out all the styled looks on Polyvore via the #HPStylesAnya hashtag.)
The fun continues well after the event, right now you can check out the textile designs on HP’s facebook page, all of the styled looks on Polyvore as well as more photos from the event too. Looking for more of Anya’s collection? Check out Anyaayoungchee.com
