The popular photo and now video sharing app, Instagram, is about to get even better. After already causing trouble for Vine by adding a short video sharing feature, one might think what else is Instagram gonna do. Trying to stay one step ahead can be difficult. So how can they do that? Beef up their new video capabilities.
Instagram Acquires Luma App
According to TechCrunch, Instagram recently acquired a company Luma in order to do so. Luma is an iOS app dedicated to your phone’s video camera. This app focuses on real-time video stabilization and real-time video filters too. The real-time filters features allow you to add and remove the filters at different parts of your video. it even allows you to use pinch-to-zoom in video. That sounds like an awesome feature and we can’t wait to see it in action. That is what might put Instagram Video over the top.
It is said that Instagram is already utilizing Luma’s video stabilization feature on Instagram already. I think we can anticipate video filters coming to Instagram but time will tell. This move will turn Facebook’s Instagram into quite the mobile photo and video powerhouse.
