There’s a lot of changes going on with your fave social media apps. Since you’re often using these apps, these updates might slip by. Be on the lookout for the new features these changes will bring.
Microsoft Windows Phone Customizes Tweet Notification
Want to follow your favorite tweeter without accessing the Twitter app? Yes you do. Twitter just updated their app for the Windows Phone users to view tweets from their favorite accounts directly on their home screen. How is this different from other smartphone and Twitter integration? It can get really annoying then you get screen notifications from all Twitter accounts you follow. For this new update, you select your favorite Twitter accounts to follow and you receive notifications on your smartphone screen every time they tweet.
What’s New With Foursquare? – What’s Nearby
With its newly designed interface, Foursquare just added a ‘nearby’ button to its app. The button will tell you which one of your friends is near you. They are also testing with iPhone users the ‘real-time’ recommendations feature, which tells you something about your current location, like the best food to order at the restaurant you are at based on customer ratings.
Facebook Updates its Privacy Settings – Again
That Facebook privacy setting, ‘Who can look up your timeline by name’ is over. It’s no longer a feature for your privacy, preventing your ‘unwants’ from finding you. What does this mean? This alters the visibility of your profile. Previously, you were able to opt-in to this privacy setting but no more. A Facebook’s spokesperson said, “Whether you’ve been using the setting or not, the best way to control what people can find about you on Facebook is to choose who can see the individual things you share.”
