There are seasons in life when words are enough.
And then there are seasons when they aren’t.
For most of my career, storytelling has lived at the center of everything I do. Whether through advertising, media, content creation, speaking engagements, or documentary filmmaking, I’ve always been fascinated by the stories we inherit, the stories we tell ourselves, and the stories that shape how we move through the world.
What I didn’t expect was that one day those stories would begin showing up on canvas.
Over the past year, I’ve quietly stepped into a new creative practice as an artist under the name René Rochon. What began as an experiment quickly became something much deeper—a way to explore identity, family, womanhood, legacy, and the invisible roles we often inherit without ever consciously choosing them.
The result is my first collection, Positions of Inheritance.
This body of work examines the ways we are shaped by birth order, family systems, expectation, partnership, and generational influence. Each piece explores a different position within those systems and asks a simple question:
Who would we become if we could separate ourselves from the roles we’ve been assigned?
The collection begins with Ordained, a reflection on the eldest daughter and the sacred weight of responsibility. It continues through The Space She Holds, honoring the emotional labor of those who serve as mediators and stabilizers within families. In Unbound: The Light She Follows, the figure steps beyond inherited expectations and moves toward self-definition. Finally, Blueprint of Becoming explores identity not as something fixed, but as something continuously constructed and reconstructed throughout our lives.
These first four works are now available as limited-edition fine art prints.

Together, these works form a conversation about inheritance—not simply what we receive, but what we carry, what we transform, and what we ultimately choose to pass forward.
Creating this collection has reminded me that creativity doesn’t always arrive in familiar forms. Sometimes it asks us to become beginners again.
I’m grateful that this journey led me here.
To everyone who has encouraged me, purchased a piece, shared feedback, visited an exhibition, or simply followed along as I explored this new chapter—thank you.
This is only the beginning.
