This new jump rope gadget called the E-rope has turned up at Yanko Design. To the naked eye, it looks rather strange, downright sanitary or dirty, but it will actually do something else — charge AA batteries.
Each handle of the E-Rope holds a pair of AA batteries that are charged by the motion of the rope spinning around. A LED on the concept shows when the batteries are fully charged so you are always aware when your jump rope is going to turn off. This way you can enjoy a nice workout without an interruption.
Jumping rope is a great way to burn calories, it helps increase the heart rate which helps burn fat. With the right workout and intensity all you need to spare is 5 to 20 minutes of your day. Apart from helping you burn calories it will increase your muscle growth and it will even help strengthen your tendons. However, jumping rope on a harsh floor like concrete can be painful in the knees and ankles for some people. If you are one of those who like to jump rope but can not stand the pain, a great alternative would be joining a rebounder class.
The designer says 20 minutes of jumping will charge the batteries fully. On the other hand, plugging your rechargeables into a wall charger will get the same results without you cracking even the slightest of sweats. But if you’re like everyone else and want to “Go Green” give it a try – just make sure you use this for it’s intended purpose ONLY 😉
