If you looked over at your App Store icon on your iPhone and/or iPad and found and update, I suggest you go in and see what needs to be updated. It might be your Google Search app. With this update, the Google Search will now provide Google Now for your iPhone and/or iPad!
What is Google Now?
Google Now is probably the most wanted feature on Android smartphones and tablets with Android Jelly Bean 4.1 (for those who are strictly iPhone/iPad/iOS, Jelly bean one of Google’s latest operating systems for their devices). Why? Well, because it basically brings your life together on your smartphone. If you rely on your smartphone to keep up with meetings, directions, dates, travel information, sports scores and more; then you will definitely benefit from Google Now.

How Does Google Now Work?
Using “cards” that you can slide off the screen when they aren’t needed, Google Now brings you information that you may feel is relevant based on time and location. There are 22 cards available for iOS (29 available for Android). These cards help you manage your day by showing up at the right time. For example the first card may usually be the weather forecast. I search the weather every few hours, so that card is usually present. Another example is the Traffic Card which shows directions and routes to go to “work” and “home”. It even tells me at what time my train departs.
For those who travel frequently, Google Now can help you with your boarding pass, flight information, and directions to your hotel once you land. For online shoppers, when you get an email with a tracking number or shipping confirmation, you have a Google Now Packages card that will help you keep track.
I personally use Google Now on a daily basis. It suggests related articles based on recent content I’ve read, and it actually does help me get through my day. It’s one of the main reasons I use Android. I am happy to see it on iOS!
