In a concept similar to Uber’s , the Vensette app promises to deliver your very own hair and makeup stylists to your front door in a snap.
Vensette employs an army of specially trained hair stylists and makeup artists who are ready to meet clients around New York City. To use Vensette, users choose a look from a curated menu of hair and makeup styles; the company then sends a uniformed hair stylist or makeup artist to their door. While users are encouraged to make appointments in advance, last-minute bookings are also possible, depending on current demand and stylist availability.
Appointments, which start at $150, are guaranteed to be completed in 45 minutes or less by one of Vensette’s more than 100 trained and vetted freelance stylists. The vetting process includes multiple interviews, background checks, and in-house hair and makeup tests. Stylists must then complete two days of training to learn the specifics of the styles offered on Vensette’s menu.
Vensette’s mobile debut is currently limited to New York City, but the app is in beta in Los Angeles, with a formal launch planned for February. Users can get the app for free in Apple’s App Store.
