Upon first glance, the GMC 2015 Yukon Denali is a glorious sight for full-size SUV inquisitive eyes. Its’ monstrous and commanding stature is almost intimidating in nature. However, the moment you unveil the hidden stylish gems and features of the exterior – you realize that if this truck is more than meets the initial eye and if it has half the style and grace on the inside that’s apparent on the outside then you’re in for an unforgettable ride!
The Exterior
As most commanding vehicles, the rich and royal noticeable tones implores that when it comes down to luxury – size absolutely matters. The exclusive exterior draped in Metallic Midnight Amethyst includes HID headlamps, 20″ ultra chrome wheels and Denali-specific chrome grille. Upon first glance, my entire family’s words remained the same “This is a truck that you’d see a superstar singer or celebrity driving in.” I’d simply respond that this is the kinda truck you would see me (as a superstar soccer mom) driving in the near future.
Superstar drive indeed. You couldn’t catch me at a red light without glances and approving head nods and inquires throughout the streets of Detroit. The 2015 Yukon Denali XL was the belle of the road (and Belle Isle), all week long.
The Interior
Upon entry into the Yukon Denali, you’re greeted with the retractable foot step that automatically extends to give you an extra step inside. Once inside you’ll immediately notice the interior accented with perforated leather throughout the vehicle. You’ll find heated and cooled front seats, driver seat memory settings for mirrors, pedals and more. It’s truly a customized driving experience that begins the moment you take your seat inside.
The Yukon Denali offers electric power steering that enhances driving efficiency, segment-first front-seat center air bag (with front bucket seats) adaptive cruise control and standard side blind zone alert, lane change alert (lane departure) warning and more. You immediately feel well-informed and in a safe and controlled environment behind the wheel.
The 2015 Yukon Denali XL comes complete with an entertainment and connectivity package to rival most luxury exports on the road today. Equipped with the sound Intellilink system which includes front/rear park assist on the 8″ touch navigation screen, you’re able to see everything you need at one glance. You can even take connectivity to the next level with the new Text-to-voice feature or Siri Eyes Free for iPhone… plus did I mention that new OnStar 4G LTE with available Wi-Fi hot spot is coming soon? (It’s already here for most 2015 GM models – for a list of all GM models 4G LTE equipped click here.)
Of course connectivity for all isn’t just limited to the front seat driver and passenger. The Yukon Denali comes standard with plenty of usb ports for charging smartphones and accessories throughout the entire cabin. When paring connectivity and entertainment in the 2015 Yukon Denali XL, everybody WINS! Offering additional connectivity and power for rear passengers with the 110-volt AC power outlet, a second AND THIRD row DVD SCREEN to accompany the rear seat entertainment system and more – the Yukon Denali ensures that every passenger (including the kids in the back seats) enjoys the driving experience just as much as the driver does.
The Verdict
Overall, the 2015 Yukon Denali XL is a luxurious treat for anyone who thinks that a full-size SUV isn’t for them. The interior has plenty of room for passengers and cargo space, however, it doesn’t make you feel like you’re driving a tank or cargo van in the process. The Intellilink entertainment and information system is intuitive and quite easy to use for hands-free calling, navigation and more. It’s no wonder that Denali models account for more than 60% of all GMC Yukon sales, it’s a great ride (and the numbers don’t lie.)
