The New Arm Candy: The Apple iWatch

 Will the new arm candy be the Apple iWatch?

Apple’s iWatch isn’t just a concept anymore.  The U.S. Patent and Trademark just awarded the tech giant a patent for a portable media device/accessory.    According to the patent, the device will communicate and transfer data with other mobile devices using GPS data.  Mobile form factors are changing.  Soon, hands free will be the mobile standard – wearable technology is were we are headed. So what do we know about the alleged Apple iWatch?

Redefining the watch, the web is filled with images of different renditions of the Apple iWatch.  But, reports say that the smart wristwatch will include a wrist mounted flexible screen (bendable glass), Bluetooth, GPS, and 1.5 inch display.  The Bluetooth should include features to talk and listen for phone, video, music, etc.  It should also include transmission of data from the smart phone.

 

 

 

Is the Apple iWatch “Stylish”? Wearable?

Apple will be in competition with current wearable computing technology like Nike’s FuelBand, FitBit’s FlexBand, and Under Armour’s E39 Performance Monitoring System.  However, Apple has a few advantages over these products – their technology, integrated watch to smart phone to include phone service, email, and of course apps galore – including the apps for FuelBand and FitBit.  You can share the same information from these devices with your smart phone and now with iWatch.
