Mondays have to honestly be one of the most-hated days of the week. I mean, honestly there are millions of “I hate Mondays” memes posted on internet every week – we get it, everyone hates Mondays. But what if I told you that there are just a few tech-inspired moves that you could use to jumpstart your Mondays and kick off your work week productivity flawlessly? Check out three ways I get pumped for Mondays using technology below.
Create a list, a List and a LIST
Typically on Fridays, we’re slacking off just like everyone else. (If we really want to be honest, our weekend really begins at 11:59 Friday mornings.) While you’re in the middle of online shopping, tweeting and checking Instagram, why not create a Monday “To-Do” list? Crafting “lists” is a great way to create accountability for getting tasks done – and if you’re gonna slack on Fridays, at least you’re making plans to kick-butt and take names on Monday. I use, Reminders and set appointments via iCalendar to keep me accountable for getting Monday tasks completed ON-TIME.
While you’re in the list-making mood. Create an inspiring and motivating Monday Morning playlist. Just like working-out, Monday’s need a playlist that will help push you and get you through the first half of the day (it’s all downhill after lunch.) My motivational playlist includes a little Mary, Mary sprinkled with a little Jay-Z and Jeezy. (Hey, I love God… but I love trap music too.)
Finally, set a List of Rewards that you’ll receive if you complete your weekly goals by Monday at 5pm. I use my Alarm feature on my iPhone to keep my list of rewards in check. For example, if you finish three tasks that aren’t technically due until Wednesday – you deserve a reward! Whether its an extra hour of surfing the web for those hard to find strappy sandals or slacking off outside the office for the rest of the day. Once you create an excitement and reward attached to getting work done on the first day of the work week, you’ll never look at Mondays the same way again!
These are just a few tech-assisted ways, I get myself through Mondays – but what about you? Share how you survive the Monday-morning blues and let’s get through the dreaded Mondays together!
