The Makeup Show NYC came to a close last week bringing inspiration and education to the epicenter of beauty and fashion. Over 6,000 beauty professionals, buyers, industry educators, press, and retailers, packed the halls at Metropolitan Pavilion on May 13 and 14 to immerse themselves in the LARGEST makeup industry event of the year.
The Makeup Show NYC was the perfect setting for pro makeup artists to stock their kits with the latest products and brands on the market and to network amongst some of the most influential artists in the industry. Each year the show hosts top makeup artists and this year was no exception. A few in attendance included Troy Jensen, Frances Hathaway, and Kristofer Buckle who each shared the secrets to their success and techniques in intimate keynotes and demonstrations.
Shelly Taggar, Vice President for The Makeup Show shared, “Every year we try to grow and deliver new things to the artists that attend, and I think this year has been the best yet. And we still have 3 shows to deliver this year in Chicago, Berlin and our new addition Orlando.”James Vincent, Director of Artistry and Education for The Makeup Show adds, “The Makeup Show NYC, with over 6000 artists and industry insiders through the door, and over 50 forums, seminars, panels, lectures and keynote presentations we bring some of the biggest hair and makeup artists from all areas of the industry for inspiration and guidance in both artistry and career building.”
The Makeup Show NYC featured top beauty brands who recorded higher sales than previous years and even sold out of popular products. Participating brands included: Diamond Sponsor MAKE UP FOR EVER, Platinum Sponsor Crown Brush and Temptu Pro, Silver Sponsor Stila, Supporting Sponsors NARS, Make-Up Designory, Smashbox, Hautelook, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Alcone and INGLOT Cosmetics, Media Sponsor Jones Magazine, Other Sponsors The Powder Group and On Makeup Magazine.
