Samsung announces that its solar-powered notebook, the Samsung NC215S, will be up for sale in the US, Africa and Russia.
The US Samsung NC215S has a 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel matte display, 1GB of RAM and a 1.66 Ghz Intel Atom N570 dual-core processor. The notebook is powered by built-in solar cells that makes the battery provide one more hour of operating time for every two hours of charging time, according to Samsung. The maker also says the total battery life can be of up to 14 hours. Samsung’s solar notebook will become available in the US, on the 3rd of July, at the retail price of $399.
