All has pretty much been quiet on Apple’s side of things for the past few months. But with their annual WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) coming up more rumors are popping up. Apparently, they are busy cooking some new treats for everyone to show off next week at their annual (WWDC). We expect a few announcements such as updates to their OS and other software. Namely their new iRadio music service they have been working on finalizing. WWDC kicks off on Monday June 10th.
What Is iRadio?
This is Apple’s radio music streaming service that will work hand-in-hand with iTunes on your device. This will work similar toPandora (it doesn’t offer on demand listening) or like the free version of Spotify where you will be able to tag songs to purchase quickly (which in turn would help iTunes sales) and also the ability to jump back to the beginning of a song. They are hoping to quickly unveil the service in up to a dozen territories, according to sources, including the U.K, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan.
Apple has recently reached agreements with 2 out of the 3 major music labels (Warner & Universal Music Group) and just trying to get Sony Music Entertainment on board to have a vast catalog of tunes at your disposal at launch.
Apple’s big conference kicks off next week on June 10th as we are hoping to see this along with a preview of the redesigned iOS 7 and possibly some refreshed MacBooks. Meanwhile they have just released their WWDC App where you can follow what’s going on at the conference every day.
