Did you know that May is National Bike Month? There are many ways to explore and celebrate National Bike Month all month long. Discover the latest in biking technology by taking a test ride on an electronic bike – also known as an e-bike.
This week, I traveled to the countryside for my first e-bike riding experience at Crystal Springs Resort in New Jersey. Bike riding had always been a joy of mine as a child, but since getting older, I’ve never considered becoming a biker again until now. During the first ever Charged Up e-bike and outdoor technology event, I had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of e-bikes from companies like BionX, Currie and Pete’s Electric Bikes.
So what makes a bike an e-bike? E-bikes are equipped with a motor, battery, viewing console and/or a throttle for an extra boost power. Most e-bikes come standard with the pedal-assist feature that helps increase the pedaling output of power while there are other bikes as well that are throttle-powered and does not require pedaling at all. Consult with a Boston, MA bicycle accident attorney if you ever get injured by someone in one of your bike rides.
