It’s official! Today, Samsung has announced that it had sold 3 million units of the Galaxy Note 2 after just 30 days – that’s three times faster than its predecessor. The original Galaxy Note was deemed a success, but took 90 days to hit the same 3 million mark. The Galaxy Note 2, at this point, is scheduled to surpass the original Galaxy Note in sales with the holiday shopping season about to hit full throttle and with launches on AT&T and Verizon, the United States’ two largest carriers, by mid-November. Last week, Samsung kicked off a huge celebration in NYC featuring Kanye West for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note II and Samsung camera and this week they’re celebrating great momentum gearing up for the holiday season.
DID YOU KNOW: Samsung topped the global smartphone market in the July-September third quarter with 56.3 million sales, more than double Apple’s 26.9 million iPhone sales. The two companies controlled combined 46 percent of the global smartphone market.
AT&T’s Galaxy Note 2 has been up for pre-order since October 25th with a release date scheduled for November 9th. Verizon’s Galaxy Note 2 has been up for pre-order since then as well though its release date remains unclear. (C’mon Verizon – I need that Galaxy Note II, like yesterday…)
