Hey cool kids! It’s been awhile, right! I’ve been a very busy girl offline and you know, LIFE kinda got in the way of updating the blog. So, what have I been up to lately? A lot. A few life changes, career upgrades and fun stuff like that. Most recently, I’ve decided to step it up and do my part to “Go Green”. Why? I wish I could say it’s because I had a major revelation about my carbon footprint or the severe damage taking place on the ozone daily, but really it’s none of those obvious reasons. Over the last six months, I’ve evolved a lot and now I’m just ready to embrace a lifestyle that’s transformative and possibly leave this world a better place than it was when I entered it.
So on a deeper level, what does this mean? Well, don’t call me a tree-hugger just yet. I’ve just begun taking actionable steps towards a greener planet friendly lifestyle by following tips from carbonclick.com. I do recycle more. You have to try having your trash cans cleaned by the experts at WASH BINS. I’ve made a dietary change (I’m not quite vegan or vegetarian, but I’m on my way!) and now I’m ready to own a vehicle that helps decrease my carbon footprint on the planet. That’s right, I’m ready to trade out my lean, mean speeding machine for a plug-in, hybrid that just so happens to be green! So what’s the right hybrid for me? This summer, I’m on a test-driving quest to find out. I’m also planning to sell my junk car for cash which I could use for my upcoming car purchase. If you’re looking to sell your scrap car, then make sure to check out Wollongong cash for cars for the best rates. Those who are also planning to buy a new car may consider donating their old vehicles to an organization that accepts car donations.
Why Go Green?
There are several reasons why driving a hybrid is beyond beneficial. First of all, it’s a great way to save money at the pump. On average, most hybrid drivers get 40-50 mpg and up to 600 miles between fill ups. So not only are you saving money, but also plenty of time at the pump too. In addition to getting better mileage than most standard cars, hybrids emit lower levels of greenhouse gases and other foul pollutants into the atmosphere. Hybrid vehicles can reduce air emissions of smog-forming pollutants by up to 90 percent and cut carbon dioxide emissions in half. Lastly, let’s talk about value! Hybrids are in high demand and will continue to hold their value, which makes buying a hybrid a good investment. While it’s true that some hybrid parts cost more than those for regular cars, they also have longer warranties. Most car companies offer 8-year warranties on the hybrid system and battery, with 3-year warranties protecting the rest of the car. If you plan to switch to an electric vehicle, you may visit a roadshow with an EV training presentation to learn more about EV’s.
What’s Next?
From foreign to domestic, I’ve complied a checklist of features, researched a handful of hybrids and now I’ve narrowed down my favorite stylish green vehicles that’ll drive me on my quest to go green, stay stylish and do my part to save the planet. Now here comes the fun part! This summer, I’ll be jumping behind the wheel of some of the hottest hybrids on the market today. Join me on my “going green” quest and hopefully, you’ll be inspired to take the leap and go green too!
