Kicking off Essence Festival 2014, the McDonald’s Infused culinary event at Café Reconcile in New Orleans gave pallets a different approach to McDonald’s menu items. Partnering with Café Reconcile, the McDonald’s Infused event celebrated local cuisine while remixing them with McDonald’s quality ingredients.
Café Reconcile empowers youth through areas of culinary and hospitality training and has had more than 2,000 graduates of the program in addition to another 200 graduates this year alone. The Café Reconcile – “training program with a restaurant,” partnered with McDonald’s to inspire the youth to help build the community and hosted a culinary menu inspired by New Orleans flair and McDonald’s menu items.
Hosted by Janell Snowden, the McDonald’s Inflused menu was filled with a unique take on local favorite dishes including a Nawlins favorite of fish and grits. The Blackend Filet-O-Fish with Fire Roasted Grits, New Orleans Style Pho and more was a hit with guests and had everyone singing “I’m Loving it!”
