In October, Lincoln Motor Company held an intimate dinner enticing the senses in celebration of the all new 2016 Lincoln MKX. During this exclusive evening experience, Lincoln closed the doors of one of Detroit’s finest, world-class restaurants Marais – where Executive Chef Garret Lipar invited guests to cook like a chef by indulging in local & organic ingredients used to prepare our 5-course dining experience.
Locally produced cranberries, potatoes, concord grapes and more served as the foundation for a 5-course dining experience which included Foie Gras, Rainbow Trout, Wagyu and a Pavlova dessert that appealed to the sense of sight, smell, touch and taste.
Media guests experienced a personalized introduction to the new 2016 Lincoln MKX, where features including the 360-degree view camera, Revel audio system and two new Black Label themes were revealed. Following an evening of decadent courses prepared by Executive Chef Garret Lipar at Marais, I had the chance to get behind the wheel of the midsize luxury utility vehicle (again) and rediscover just how beautifully the Lincoln MKX drives inside and out.
Upon approaching the MKX, you’ll initially notice the luxe fluid lines and exterior design that hints style and function. The all-new Lincoln MKX, in showrooms now, introduces Quiet Luxury, a new standard that combines thoughtful and elegant design with a safe, effortless ride and a warm, tailored experience.
The available features and technologies have been orchestrated to provide a seamless experience. The front camera, for example, sits behind the Lincoln Star badge. When in Drive, Park or Neutral and the button is pushed, the Lincoln Star badge moves out about 1 inch and tilts up to deploy the available front camera.

The camera system also offers a 180-degree split view, which can be helpful in looking out in cross-traffic situations. The 360-degree view shows up to 7 feet all around the vehicle, helping to make parking easier, no matter what. The 12-sensor ultrasonic system enables the full range of available parking-assist features: front rear side sensing, perpendicular and parallel parking and park out.
The intuitive infotainment system includes SYNC with MyLincoln Touch, Siri seamless integration and the automotive debut of Revel. You can easily read and control the things you want with a color-coded touch-screen display, including entertainment, phone and optional navigation. You can even customize the look of your home-screen by using a favorite saved photo as your home-screen wallpaper.
Revel is a luxury brand of HARMAN, which designs, manufactures and markets premier audio, visual, infotainment and enterprise automation solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets.
