If you’ve been following my misadventures in babysitting via Twitter or Instagram (#DivaDoesBabysitting) over the last few days, you’ve been sure to see me rolling in the New 2013 Cadillac XTS. From stylishly riding throughout the streets of my hometown to striving from the “Aunt of The Year” award transporting my nieces and nephews around in their “spaceship” – the Cadillac XTS has gotten it’s fair share of points & stares.
Well, Cadillac is bringing a little something new to the backseat of it’s kid-friendlier Cadillac SRX – in the form of Blu-ray entertainment. The new 2013 Cadillac SRX luxury vehicles will soon start rolling off the lots, they’ll boasting something never seen before in an automobile – a Blu-ray player. The CUE in-vehicle entertainment system in Cadillac vehicles has been expanded in the SRX to include a Blu-ray player, but that’s far from the only entertainment upgrade. In the backseat, there will be two 8” touchscreen displays that can be flipped up. They can also display different things – one passenger can play video games, while the other listens to music or watches a movie. There will only be one Blu-ray player, so if you’re using that, two different movies can’t be viewed simultaneously. A connector cable sold separately will allow passengers to connect their mobile devices to the displays and watch their own movies that way.
M0bile devices can be connected without the extra cable to play music, and each passenger has room to connect their own device – in fact, you can have up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled devices connected to the car at once. A simplified remote control to handle all of that content has been made simple enough that kids, who will undoubtedly be the main beneficiaries of these features, can use it easily. No more, “Are we there yet?” outbursts or sleepy kids in the backseat, you can now look forward to highly entertained kiddies – just hope you don’t have to worry about them fighting over the remote…
