Imagine a future where all women owned the power of their beauty. Self Love. Self Esteem. It sounds rather simple right? But with the recent rise in conversation surrounding the emotional and psychological state that develops in children and teens surrounding the lack of self love and low self esteem, it’s about time that these conversations are brought to the forefront and Proctor & Gamble’s My Black Is Beautiful latest project does just that.
Originally aired Friday, July 5th on BET – the “Imagine A Future” documentary shared Janet Goldsboro’s story of self-acceptance and self-discovery as she travels from Delaware to South Africa. During Essence Festival Weekend, My Black Is Beautiful hosted a wonderful collection of women and press to the screening premier in New Orleans, LA. Hosted by Tatyana Ali with appearances by Tai Beauchamp, Beverly Bond and more – the evening ignited the spark of conversation which also included public screenings throughout Essence Music Festival and more!
“As a long-standing ESSENCE Festival sponsor, My Black Is Beautiful is committed to providing interactive consumer experiences making us a fan favorite year after year and we are excited to expand our presence through a strategic partnership with Walmart,” said Grace Janes, Brand Manager, My Black Is Beautiful. “This year, we are also happy to bring our first-ever documentary, Imagine a Future, directly to our extended family in New Orleans – where Imagine a Future all started.”
