Satin, bold shimmers and snowflakes filled former Project Runway Alumn – Irina Shabayeva’s Fall/Winter 2011 Runway collection. With several cocktail dress pieces adorned in satin, shimmery golds and brilliant colors – these looks served as the highlight of the show as the wool & knits served as the textured basics in tunics & jackets. The laser-cut snowflake details that were noticeably the theme among some of the designs lend itself to a typical “winter’s wonderland” theme that was neither “HIT” or “MISS” in my opinion – just another added feature to create an overall LOOK in a collection of designs that span both ends of the fashion spectrum.
