At 7:59 am, you could cut the tension with a knife and as the countdown began, I literally hoped that I wouldn’t fall victim to the stampede. As the women poured into Filene’s Basement, ripping gowns off the racks and hoarding them in 6′ high piles – I was in complete shock & awe of the mayhem I had witnessed.
