Recently, I got the chance to experience the Marriott Rewards Local Perks program for myself at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa and the groundbreaking technology is just what every traveler needs to make their travel experience a personal one! It joins notable brands that are using the groundbreaking technology in retail, tech, and entertainment, reaching their consumer in a new way with geo-targeted, mobile offers that utilize Bluetooth and are delivered via push notifications on their mobile device. If you are an iPhone user: Make sure your Bluetooth is turned on. Download Marriott’s Marriott Guest Services application and accept push notifications. When prompted, accept location services and opt into receiving LocalPerks. Walk past a beacon and you will receive a LocalPerks push notification inviting you to an on-property deal.
With beacon technology, Marriott Rewards’ LocalPerks sends guests exclusive, localized experiences as they pass by beacons located in the hotel via push notification. Offers, include food & beverage, golf, and spa deals, will change as they move to the corresponding locations across the property.
During a walk around, I received a Marriott Rewards push notification for a free drink with purchase at Pazzi’s Restaurant.
